A window seat is a term used to describe a specific type of seating on an airplane, train or bus that is located next to a plane's window. This means of transportation has several rows of seats with aisles in between them and usually there are two seats on either side of the aisle. The window seat is positioned closest to the aircraft’s windows, providing passengers with an unobstructed view during their journey. Passengers who prefer to have more space or privacy often choose this seat as it is not directly next to another passenger. Additionally, being seated by the window allows for easy access to open the shade and look out of the plane while in flight.
